MOUNTAIN LAKES on the Stockhorn
The Stockhorn railway takes visitors in comfort from Erlenbach in the Simmental on to the Stockhorn mountain. From up here you can enjoy the impressive sight of 200 Alpine peaks from Titlis to Moléson.
In the modern panoramic restaurant, guests are attended to with great care and can treat themselves to a selection of gastronomic delights. The breath-taking view of the magical mountain world of the Bernese Oberland means you will quickly forget normal everyday life.
There are well-maintained hiking trails around the two idyllic mountain lakes. The hiking area on the Stockhorn has something to suit all visitors, from an easy walk to a challenging mountain hike.
Apart from the panoramic restaurant, the "Gipfelgalerie" leads onto the panoramic viewing platform in the north face of the Stockhorn. From here you have breathtaking views down and all around, including Lake Thun, the Swiss Plateau and as far as the Jura, Alsace and the Black Forest.
Fishing in the clear mountain lake is a one-of-a-kind experience. Full of trout, the lakes guarantee catching a fish whether you are a serious angler or just somebody having a go for fun.
