Permanent exhibitions on Niklaus von Flüe and Dorothee Wyss
The permanent exhibitions paint a multifaceted portrait of the mystic, politician and popular saint from the 15th century. Based on historical facts, it follows in the footsteps of Niklaus von Flüe and his wife Dorothee right up to the present day. Sound and image productions, music and film excerpts, room installations and historical objects offer a varied introduction to the life and work of these influential personalities.

Temporary exhibition “Overflow – 20 Years of Flooding in Obwalden”
In August 2005, the canton of Obwalden and large parts of Switzerland were hit by devastating storms. The exhibition “Excess – 20 Years of Flooding in Obwalden” looks back on that summer with selected images by photographer Daniel Reinhard, collected photos and eyewitness accounts from the people of Obwalden, and objects from the flooded collection of the Museum Obwalden. It documents the dramatic events, shows the devastation, and looks back at historical natural disasters in the region
